When you have one child in school, you start to understand that children are not cheap. School clothes, school books, lunches and after-school programs all start to add up. When you have three kids in school the cost of raising your children seriously compounds. However, recently I’ve noticed on glaring expense I’ve managed to overlook until now.
Every year, more and more financial responsibility gets placed on the parents when it comes to school. Every year the list of school supplies gets longer and longer. I start to wonder where my excessively high school taxes go each year.
This year, since I need supplies for one third-grader, one kindergartener and one pre-schooler, I started looking for discount school supplies. After all, these supplies go fast. If it was just one purchase year, I could understand but with the speed that these children go through things, I will be buying more next month.
I want my children to be prepared to succeed in school in every way possible and I know having quality supplies will help get them on their way to success but I don’t want it to be at the expense of my bank account! I’m all about saving money wherever possible.
